Grateful Spiral (Book)

Paper clay, 3D-printed script, underglaze, glaze.

24 x 30 x 5 inches
2024

This book – forever open, scaled up, and marked with a levitating page – has been transformed into a magical object. It centers a quote from my personal diary, which I 3D-printed using a model of my own handwriting.

The script reads:
“I am grateful for the discord & difficulty. I am grateful for the disappointment, the anger, and the hurt. I am grateful for the times I have cried, for they have made this moment so much stronger and so much sweeter.”

I want this book to serve as a pedestal for my hopeful words, transforming them from a quote into a spell.
